Alright folks, leave the diet at the door, at Amy Ruth’s they get down and dirty (south). I’m talk’ in bout BBQ spare ribs, fried catfish, collard greens Mac & cheese, ham hocks (that’s some good poke), and the old Harlem staple chicken & waffles (fried or smothered). Amy Ruth’s is an intimate and charming set with a warm and friendly staff but lets face it you come here to chow down.

Barbecue purists beware: There’s more on the menu at BBQ Harlem than pork and beef. The uptown newcomer grills up all kinds of seafood, including crab cakes and catfish, alongside classic sizzling fare like baby back ribs and chicken with traditional barbecue, honey or buffalo sauce. Although everything is done in-house, the restaurant took a pass on fancy mesquite or hickory chips. The fact that they’ll deliver to your doorstep more than makes up.
